Tween Bridge Solar Farm Statutory Consultation Questionnaire

Consultation runs from 20 March until 23.59 on 08 May 2025

Please complete this feedback questionnaire to let us know your views on our updated proposals for Tween Bridge Solar Farm (the ‘Scheme’). The deadline for responses is 23:59 on Thursday 08 May 2025.

We are developing proposals for a ground mounted solar farm with an intended design capacity of over 50MWp (megawatts peak), and a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) with an export/import connection to the National Grid. The Scheme is located within the Yorkshire and Humber regions. The site extends to over 2527 hectares, centred at approximately 10 kilometres to the northeast of Doncaster and 14 kilometres to the west of Scunthorpe. The Scheme straddles two host authorities; City of Doncaster Council and North Lincolnshire Council.

Following on from our earlier consultation in 2023, we are now seeking your views as part of our statutory pre-application consultation, where we are presenting updated proposals for Tween Bridge Solar Farm. This statutory consultation is being undertaken in accordance with the requirements of the Planning Act 2008. We will have regard to any consultation responses received in preparing our application for a Development Consent Order (DCO) for the Scheme, which we will be submitting to the Planning Inspectorate towards the end of 2025.

This feedback questionnaire sits alongside our wider suite of consultation materials, including but not limited to a Preliminary Environmental Information Report (PEIR), PEIR Non-Technical Summary (NTS) and Consultation Leaflet. Details on how you can respond to the proposals set out in the consultation materials are below. All of our materials can be found on our website (www.tweenbridgesolar.co.uk/documents). Our website also contains details of how you can access hard copy information, should you wish to do so, as part of this consultation.

We recommend that you visit our website (www.tweenbridgesolar.co.uk) and/or attend one of our public information events for information to help you provide us with your feedback on our proposals. You may wish to refer to the PEIR or to the shorter NTS of the PEIR Report for more detailed information.

How to provide your feedback

Please use this feedback questionnaire to provide your response as part of this consultation. You do not have to answer all of the questions in this questionnaire, and if you wish to make any other comments on the Scheme there is space set aside at the end.

If you would like help completing this questionnaire, or information about our proposals you can:

The statutory consultation runs from Thursday 20 March until 23:59 on Thursday 8 May 2025. It is important you submit your feedback to us before the closing date, so that it can be considered in our proposals.

The scheme

The ground mounted solar PV panels, electrical substations, and energy storage facilities would be located within land parcels A to E and covers an area of approximately 2397 hectares. The underground export cable would be located within Land Parcel F*.

* National Grid will be developing its own proposals and consenting for the substation separately. The location of the new National Grid substation is still to be confirmed by National Grid and is dependent on technical, design, and environmental factors being considered. The location is outside of our control.

For the consultation, it has been assumed that the 400kV National Grid substation would be located within, or near to, the proposed scheme. We have included an National Grid Substation and RWE Underground Export Cable Route Assessment Search Area (Land Area F) in our draft order limits where it is thought that the National Grid substation, and therefore the connection cable, might be located, in order to ensure that we consult with the appropriate parties and that our consultation materials include assessments in relation to this land, where possible.

1. Do you have any comments on the scheme?

Preliminary Environmental Information Report (PEIR)

Our PEIR and Non-Technical Summary (NTS) provide an overview of our preliminary environmental findings (includes studies and surveys) that have been undertaken to date. This work is across a range of environmental topic areas, and also sets out any suitable measures identified to help reduce any impacts. You can view the PEIR HERE.

2. Do you have any comments on the environmental information provided in the PEIR?

Views on community benefits

It is important that the local communities most affected by our Scheme can benefit directly from it. Tween Bridge Solar Farm will deliver a community benefit package to the local area worth approximately 12 million over the lifetime of the project*.

Further details of our plans for community benefits can be found on our website (www.tweenbridgesolar.co.uk/benefits).

3. Do you have any ideas or suggestions about how the community benefits package could best support your local community?

* The total value of community benefit will be subject to the final installed capacity of the project and the route to market secured by the project.

4. Do you have any further comments on our plans for an electric vehicle charging hub?

Proposals to install an electric vehicle charging hub at Tween Bridge Solar Farm, with land set aside to the immediate east of Moor Edges Road and north of Moor Owners Road, were mostly supported during the previous consultation. These proposals remain within the Scheme.
